1. Introduction & Application Identity

Welcome to BookMySalonWala (“We”, “Our”, or “Us”), accessible via our web application at https://www.bookmysalonwala.com and our Android mobile application on Google Play Store (Package Name: com.bookmysalonwala.app).

This Privacy Policy sets out how BookMySalonWala collects, processes, protects, stores, and handles personal information collected from Customers (individuals discovering and booking salon appointments) and Salon Partners (independent salon owners, managers, and beauty professionals). This policy complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and Google API Services User Data Policy.

Direct Payment & Technology Intermediary Notice

BookMySalonWala is a technology discovery and appointment scheduling platform. Customers pay the salon directly at the salon premises via cash, UPI, or card. BookMySalonWala does not collect, process, hold, or store customer payment cards, banking credentials, or UPI PINs for salon appointment services.

2. Google User Data Policy & Google Sign-In

When you choose to sign in, register, or authenticate using Google Sign-In on BookMySalonWala (web or Android app), we request access to basic Google user profile data via standard OAuth 2.0 OpenID Connect scopes (openid, profile, email).

A. Specific Google Data Collected:

  • Full Name (Display Name): To personalize your account and display your identity on bookings or salon owner profiles.
  • Email Address: Used as your unique account identifier, for sending transactional booking confirmations, appointment reminders, and account security notifications.
  • Profile Picture URL: To display your avatar within your account dashboard.
  • Google User ID (OpenID Subject Identifier): A unique technical string used to securely verify your authentication token.

B. How We Use Google User Data:

  • To create and authenticate your BookMySalonWala user account seamlessly without requiring manual password management.
  • To identify you as a customer booking a salon service or as a salon owner managing your salon dashboard.
  • To send critical transactional notifications, such as appointment scheduling confirmations and updates.

C. Strict Restrictions & Zero Sale of Google Data:

We do NOT sell, rent, lease, or monetize Google user data under any circumstances. Specifically:

  • Google user data is never transferred or sold to third-party data brokers, advertising platforms, or information resellers.
  • Google user data is never used to serve targeted advertisements or personalized marketing across external websites.
  • Google user data is never used for credit scoring, lending evaluations, or surveillance purposes.
  • Google user data is never used to train artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) models.

D. Google API Limited Use Disclosure:

BookMySalonWala’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Other Information We Collect

A. Information Provided by Customers

  • Contact Information: Phone number (for appointment reminders and verification).
  • Booking Metadata: Preferred salon, selected service, appointment time, and grooming requests.
  • Reviews & Feedback: Service ratings and comments submitted for completed appointments.

B. Information Provided by Salon Partners

  • Salon Details: Salon name, commercial address, city, state, pincode, GPS location, operating hours, and showcase gallery photos.
  • Owner & Staff Profiles: Owner name, mobile number, staff member lists, and offered service menu with pricing.

C. Device & Technical Data

  • Device model, OS version, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens for push notifications, and crash diagnosis reports.

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Processors

We share personal data strictly on a need-to-know basis as described below:

  • With Booked Salons: When you book an appointment, your name, contact phone number, and appointment details are shared with the specific salon to honor your reservation.
  • Infrastructure & Hosting Providers: We use Google Cloud Platform and Firebase (hosted securely with enterprise-grade encryption) for hosting databases and backend authentication. All processing is governed by strict data processing and security agreements.
  • Legal & Statutory Compliance: If required by Indian law, judicial decree, or law enforcement investigations, we may disclose information to authorized governmental entities.

5. Data Security & Storage Standards

BookMySalonWala employs industry-standard security safeguards to protect user data:

  • All web and API traffic is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 / TLS 1.3).
  • Database storage on Google Cloud / Firebase is encrypted at rest using AES-256 bit encryption.
  • Access to backend administration tools is restricted to authorized personnel with multi-factor authentication (MFA).

6. Account & Data Deletion Mechanism

We respect your right to control and delete your personal information. You may request the permanent deletion of your BookMySalonWala account and all associated personal data (including Google user profile data, appointment history, and preferences) at any time.

How to Request Account & Data Deletion:

  1. Send an email with the subject line “Account Deletion Request” to our Data Protection Team at:
    avinashkawhale@gmail.com or support@bookmysalonwala.com.
  2. Specify your registered email address and mobile number associated with your BookMySalonWala account.
  3. Execution Timeline: Your request will be verified and executed within 7 business days. All personal profile records, Google auth linkages, and contact metadata will be permanently deleted from our primary databases.
  4. Revoking Google Permissions: You can also disconnect BookMySalonWala’s access to your Google Account at any time directly through your Google Account Permissions settings.
